Future Choices: Access Accountancy

Our Future Choices: Access Accountancy programme gives you real insight into what it’s like to work at a global professional services firm. You’ll experience our business first-hand, connect with people, and explore the wide range of career opportunities available in a firm where your ideas, background and potential truly matter.

The programme gives Year 12/S5 and Year 13/S6 students the opportunity to explore a range of departments, develop employability skills, and build confidence in a professional setting.

This four-day paid programme is delivered across our UK offices and includes:

  • Interactive business simulations with real-world challenges
  • Skills-building workshops on communication, teamwork and career readiness
  • Opportunity to connect, collaborate and network in a hybrid setting
  • Insight into our recruitment process with the opportunity to transfer to one of our school leaver apprenticeship roles.

We particularly encourage applications from students who meet Access Accountancy’s inclusion criteria.

When and where?

Future Choices takes place across many of our offices in the UK and runs:

  • In the October half-term for Year 13
  • During Easter holidays for Year 12/S5/S6

Hear from one of our alumni, Annabel

I was first drawn to apply for the Access Accountancy work experience programme to gain an insight into what a day was like in a big corporate firm. I knew I wanted to go into an accounting or finance related role, but I wanted to be sure, as I didn’t really know what it entailed. The week was important for me also, to help decide if Forvis Mazars was right for me. During my week at Forvis Mazars, I was able to shadow people from various service lines to get an insight into the wider workings of the business and the many services Forvis Mazars offers. I knew I didn’t want to go to university and after hearing about the variety of opportunities and progression routes that are available, straight out of school, it was a no brainer for me! This experience drew me to join Forvis Mazars because of the large people culture and the variety of clients they work with. It also helped me in my interview process, with a direct insight into the firm and a relatable experience to talk about.
